Clinical Depression
- Our counselors offered an educational presentation on the topic of clinical depression to the Celebrate Recovery leadership group at Hope Church in Columbia, Illinois. This CR group had been interested in gaining a more comprehensive understanding of the difference between sadness and depression, how addiction and depression co-occur, and ways to intervene when leaders observe members experiencing a specific constellation of symptoms. There was a time for questions and case examples toward the end that allowed leaders to verbalize and validate their experiences as well as gather information about resources relevant to the care of their members.
