In Christianity, the term agape refers to the unconditional and voluntary love of God, God's love for humanity, and our call to love one another.

Kelly Maxwell earned her MA in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary.  She is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri.  Kelly counsels on location at Covenant Theological Seminary.  Given the significant ways that God works deeply in the hearts of seminary students during their time of study, she is excited to be a part of this transformational process through the practice of counseling.

Prior to joining the Agape team, she counseled in Nashville, TN, in private practice and at an eating disorder clinic.  Her counseling is informed by the biblical worldview that honors individuals' pain and struggles in light of their dignity found in creation.  She has a passion to walk with women who struggle with eating and self-image related issues.  Additionally, she has experience helping those who desire growth, change, and healing in the areas of grief/loss, spiritual concerns, adjustment challenges, social difficulties, anxiety, and depression.

Kelly partners with Finding Balance (Fb) to lead groups that help young adult and adult women who struggle with body image and food-based issues from a faith-based approach.  For more on Kelly's framework on these issues, read Kelly's Article Resource, Body in Focus.
